Welcome to February IWSG

Purpose: To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds!

Alex J. Cavanaugh is the founder of IWSG

His awesome co-hosts for the February 5 posting of the IWSG are Lee Lowery, Ronel Janse van Vuuren, Jennifer Hawes, Cathrina Constantine, and Tyrean Martinson!

Every month, we announce a question that members can answer in their IWSG Day post. These questions may prompt you to share advice, insight, a personal experience or story. Include your answer to the question in your IWSG post or let it inspire your post if you are struggling with something to say. Remember, the question is optional!!!

Question: Has a single photo or work of art ever inspired a story? What was it and did you finish it?

Yes, now that I think of it, a photo did inspire me to write a story.

These two little orphan girls who found a home.

And I wrote their story. Or as much of it as I knew, though a lot of this novel is fiction, the girls did have a foster family.
Yes, their story is finished, with a happy ending.

I'm looking forward to reading your stories.

    1. Yes, Diane. The older girl was my mother, the younger my aunt. The other four children in the family were adopted out in New York, their home town.

    1. Yes, I love finding the story in a photo, Jess, sometimes a real one, other times fictional, but a story. This one wouldn't let me go. I had to tell it. Thanks for stopping by.
