HAPPY FATHER'S DAY

It's been years since you went away, Dad, to your final resting place. But my memories of you are still fresh in my mind. God gave my sister and me the best father a girl could have. And I wanted to take this special day to say, "I love you, Dad."

Anyone remember 25 cent haircuts?
If you do, you're as old as me.

  1. My mother cut my hair until I was a teen, so I never even saw $1 haircuts.

    1. Smart lady, Diane. My mother let my hair grow long until I was older then Dad cut it.

  2. I don't remember how much haircuts were back then. But I do remember how cheap gas was. And how little the hourly minimum wage was.

    1. Gas was cheap, Natalie, but wages were low, too, like you say, so I guess it balances out.

    1. Yes, Karin, the memories are precious. Of course, salaries back then were not nearly what they are today. I guess it balances out.

    1. I have a lot of old family pictures, Jess. They're so neat. Sent some to my nephew recently because he'd never met his grandfather. He was so excited.
