GUARDIAN'S TOUCH BOOK BIRTHDAY TOUR

Quote for the week:  “The house smelled musty and damp, and a little sweet, as if it were haunted by the ghosts of long-dead cookies.”
Neil Gaiman, American Gods

Today, I have the pleasure of introducing you to L A Dragoni's new novel GUARDIAN'S TOUCH, Touched by Afterlife, Book 2. Enjoy.

Every time I see this cover I like it more. Gorgeous.

For a ghost there are only two choices. Heaven or Hell.

Coming August 1, 2017
Guardian’s Touch, Touched by Afterlife, Book 2

Life has returned to normal for Tamara and Dex after helping a horde of ghosts cross over. Their brush with the afterlife affirmed one thing: happily ever after is real.

When odd pranks around the farm escalate to destruction, Tamara fears mischievous teenagers are vandalizing the neighborhood. Then Dex starts to act out of character. Meanness slips into his usually playful disposition. One day he even ridicules a co-worker publicly. Tamara watches helplessly as he seems to lose the ability to control his own actions. When Dex’s abnormal anger turns violent—toward Tamara—their happily ever after is threatened. Desperate to help Dex and herself, she sends out a silent prayer for help.

She didn’t expect Cal to come to her aid.

How many of you are currently raising children? It usually means you are in full sensor mode. When the kids are around you try to keep the heavy topics out of conversation, you attempt to keep your words—if not simple—at least in context, and you probably try not to swear. At least not often.

However, once you get to work or the kids go to bed for the night, the sensor turns off.

Writing for children vs. writing for adults is a lot like that. I have been publishing books for kids and teens for seven years and now I’ve adopted a new pen name so I can write for adults. Does that mean that my adult books are full of bawdy language, and raunchy behavior? No. But they could be if I wanted them to!

My Touched by Afterlife series is adult more so because the main characters are handling adult situations, such as working, paying bills, and banishing ghosts, as well as forming adult relationships, even living with each other. Their lifestyles don’t fit in a young adult novel. And some of those ghosts are just downright inappropriate!

This is a celebration of a book release—the second book in a series for which I have unlimited ideas for books. For an entry into the rafflecopter, include in your comment a favorite book series you’ve read, then be sure to claim all the entries you qualify for in the rafflecopter!

STILL ME ... AFTER ALL THESE YEARS REVIEW

Quote of the week:

Today, I'd like to share an anthology I just finished reading. The stories are great no matter your age.

STILL ME ... AFTER ALL THESE YEARS

STILL ME…AFTER ALL THESE YEARS

24 Writers Reflect on Aging

By Karen Helene Walker

“Grow old along with me! The best is yet to be, The last of life for which the first was made; Our times are in His hand…” As I read the stories in the anthology STILL ME…AFTER ALL THESE YEARS, Poet Robert Browning’s words from RABBI BEN EZRA came to mind. I never really thought about them when I was younger, but now I understand what he was saying, at least what it means to me.

As we go through life we learn, at least we should. And in the individual stories of this anthology we see that just because one is growing older doesn’t mean their active life is over. Quite the contrary. Many new adventures are waiting for us, if we just recognize them. We see this in these stories. Some discuss physical changes in our bodies. So, our hair turns gray, our muscles grow flabby. That doesn’t mean we can’t still dance and swim and do the things we enjoy doing.

Losing parents and other family members is heartbreaking, but as one story mentions we still have the wisdom we learned from our parents and/or siblings.

These stories will have you laughing, and thinking, and counting your blessings, so pick up a copy and enjoy STILL ME …AFTER ALL THESE YEARS. I think you’ll be glad you did.

Have a lovely week.

Happy Reading.

THE INSECURE WRITER'S SUPPORT GROUP

Today is the first Wednesday in July, and you know what that means.

Purpose: To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds!

Posting: The first Wednesday of every month is officially Insecure Writer’s Support Group day. Post your thoughts on your own blog. Talk about your doubts and the fears you have conquered. Discuss your struggles and triumphs. Offer a word of encouragement for others who are struggling. Visit others in the group and connect with your fellow writer - aim for a dozen new people each time. Be sure to link to this page and display the badge in your post.

The founder of the IWSG is the Awesome Ninja Alex J. Cavanaugh.

His awesome co-hosts for the July 5 posting of the IWSG are Tamara Narayan, Pat Hatt, Patricia Lynne, Juneta Key, and Doreen McGettigan!

Be sure to visit the Insecure Writer's Support Group Website

Every month, we announce a question that members can answer in their IWSG Day post. These questions may prompt you to share advice, insight, a personal experience or story. Include your answer to the question in your IWSG post or let it inspire your post if you are struggling with something to say. Remember, the question is optional!!!

July 5th question:

What is one valuable lesson you've learned since you started writing?

Good question.

The first one that comes to my mind is patience. I tend to want everything done right now. In writing, that does not happen, as you well know. I write and write and think I'll never finish. Patience.

Next, I ask my wonderful, kind, understanding critique friends to read the thing and tell me what it needs. Patience.

After I go back trough the story, reading their comments and making changes, I write a query letter and send my story to the perfect publisher. Patience.

When the reply comes, with a contract, I shout "Yippee!" My book will soon be out. Patience.

(When I receive a polite "no thanks" instead of a contract, I send it out again.) Patience.

After an acceptance, come the edits, edits, edits. Do they ever end. Patience.

Months, or even years later, I can hold my book in my hands. Patience.

Wait for reviews. Wait for readers' comments. Patience.

Happy reading.
Remember, the word is patience.
