NATIONAL KIDS AND PETS DAY

Welcome Wednesday. Did you know that today is National Kids and Pets Day? Yes, it is. What can be cuter than kids and pets? Coleen Paige, Celebrity Family and Pet Lifestyle Expert, founded National Kids and Pets Day in 2005.  Check out her page for more information and adorable pictures.

So I searched through my photo albums to find pictures of kids and pets and want to share these with you. Enjoy.

Me a few years ago.

My sister and me. I don't think this was a pet, but we were intrigued.

A neighbor and his dog, again a few years ago.

So, do you or your children have a pet? You know, of course about my two cats. Even grownups need pets, in my opinion.

Happy Reading!

  2. Pets are grand for any age. Always had at least a cat and dog as a kid and now just the two cats, even if we are living with 10 more and 2 dogs lol at the moment.

    1. My family always had a dog and the cats that just showed up. So do I. That's a lot of cats and dogs. I bet they keep you entertained. :)

    1. Thanks, Karin. I like the old pictures. Have some modern ones, but wasn't sure I should show them without permission. :)

  4. We've had dogs in the past, as well as a cat that lived for 19 & 1/2 years. All our pets have been sweeties, but our last dog has a special place in our hearts. Still miss him after 4 years.

    1. That's a great age for a cat, Elizabeth. My Persian lived to 21. I understand about having a special place in your heart for a pet that's now in pet heaven. So do I. :)

  5. Aww! Love seeing these pictures from a few years ago. ;) I had pets growing up and pets throughout my adult life. I can't imagine life without them! They all hold a special place in my heart. :)

  6. Thanks, Jess. I love old pictures too. And I know what you mean by pets holding a special place in your heart.

  7. Kids and pets day is such a sweet idea. This world needs more of those. My mom had 2 cats when I was born and one had kittens a few years later. We kept all of them. That started me on loving cats and I always had some for about 40 yrs. But it got too difficult in Egypt since I moved a round a lot. When my last died, I didn't have the heart to get another. Now I just put up lots of LOLCats on my FB page!

    1. It is, Lexa. I was tickled to find it. Hadn't heard of it before. We sure can get attached to our fur babies. Most of the cats I've had just showed up at my house and adopted me. I'm so happy they did. The cats on your FB page are easier to take care of. :)

    1. Your writing cave is a great place to be, Kelly. I hope to get back into mine as soon as I finish copy edits for my next book.

  9. I didn't have a pet when I was a kid. I feel like I missed out! But I've had pets most of my adult life and I always will! I can't imagine life without one.

    1. I know what you're saying. My pets are family, and I learn a lot from them. Enjoy your pets.

  10. I always had pets growing up. I was so lucky that my family appreciated all that I lugged home and made part of the group. This is the first time in my life I've been without an animal and I do miss their company and love. I'm waiting for a while longer just because one more thing on my plate might be that straw. Sorry about the mixed metaphor. :-) Loved seeing your pictures from a few years ago.
