A TO Z CHALLENGE "Z" FOR SAN DIEGO ZOO

Finally, the letter Z. I've been to the San Diego Zoo a few times. A wonderful place for animal lovers. I've been to the Fort Worth Zoo, too. Now, I'm tired, been struggling with edits for my publisher that turned into a major rewrite. One chapter to go. Yay! I've been promoting my latest book and need to do a lot more of that. So I'm going to let pictures of the San Diego Zoo in the 1950s speak for themselves.  Enjoy the critters.

Actually, I think it's cruel to keep animals in cages.

  3. Good luck with the edits at your sea. Great pics indeed. But yeah, keeping animals in a cage is rather cruel, unless I giant cage like on a reserve.

    1. Thanks, Pat. I'm getting there. Final chapter. You're right about the national reserves. Some animals need protection.

  4. I lived in SanDiego when I was little and the Zoo was where my grandmother took me a lot. I have a lot of great memories of wandering those grounds.

Congrats on crossing the finish line, Beverly. Great job this year.

    1. San Diego is a lovely city, Lee. Those would be wonderful memories. My youngest son and his family lived in San Diego for a few years. They're now about an hours drive away. I enjoyed visiting Cuba with you. It's a more interesting country than I thought.

  7. Great pictures. I've never been to this zoo. The last zoo I went to was in Cape May, NJ. It was incredible.

  8. San Diego is SUCH a beautiful city. We were there--but we didn't make it to the zoo. We did visit Old City (Old Town?) and have GREAT Mexican food, though!

  10. What a cute baby leopard!! It is cruel to keep them in small cages, but I think the ones that are in big natural settings and have the people tour through on special busses aren't bad. They're almost as good as wildlife sanctuaries. Good luck on your edits! :)

    1. You're right, Lexa. Sometimes they're safer in a sanctuary than on their own. Thanks. Almost there.
