Poodle Skirts
Pedal Pushers
Oxford Shoes
Bobby Socks
and

Ladies and kids of the 50s knew how to dress. And these are some of my favorites.

My cat eye glasses. I had a pair that was better than these but couldn't find it.

    1. I know, Yvonne. I know. The years keep creeping up.

  2. The 50s looks so much more fun than the decades I grew up in fashion-wise. The seventies with bell-bottoms? Yuck. The eighties with aerobic skin-tight wear? No thanks. I was born in the wrong era apparently.

    1. I remember the bell-bottoms, Tamara. Styles do change. The 50s were interesting, and I imagine each decade has its good and bad memories.

  3. I'm just jeans and t shirt, not sure that has a generation haha

    1. Jeans and t shirt pretty well describes the present generation, Pat. I remember when girls started wearing Levis. That was an event. We still could not wear them to school. Dresses only.

  4. They say if you live long enough, fashions come back into style. If only we had large enough closets to save each era's clothing! Dropping by from the A to Z Challenge. www.dianeweidenbenner.com

    1. I've heard that, Diane. Looking back, I can see that it's true. Yeah, I wish I still had my poodle skirt. Thanks for stopping by. Will visit you.

  5. I wore saddle shoes and bobby sox. I was a kid who played outside after dark and didn't know what a television set was let alone a computer. Times have changed. https://mhsusannematthews.wordpress.com/

    1. You sound like me. We got a TV when I was in high school. We played outside too, and our parents didn't worry about us. They knew we'd come in when it was time to eat. Sometimes I wish for the simpler days. Thanks for stopping by.

  6. I went to a vintage car rally a few years ago and Poodle Skirts were everywhere. Unfortunately, they weren't on teenagers. Somehow Poodle Skirts and mature women aren't a great match.

    1. Ha, ha. I can picture that, Lee. Yes, there is an age limit for most of the styles. I didn't show what "mature" ladies wore. They're interesting too.

    1. I still like the cat eyes, Diane. Would wear these except I can't see out of them any more. Styles have changed, as have the eyes.

  8. Cat eye glasses are everywhere. Every time I shop for eyeglasses, I see them. So they're apparently back in!

    1. Really, Stephanie? Great. I'll have to take a look this summer when I have my eyes checked. That's when I buy new glasses. So excited.
