HARPER LEE

Monday Musings!
I'm reading my first audio book. Divergent by Veronica Roth.
I'm really enjoying it, though it is different to hear rather than to see.
Do you listen to audio books? What's the verdict?

Speaking of books. I suppose most of you have heard the news by now. Harper Lee's new book,
Go Set a Watchman, is due out this summer. According to the article I read, it was written in the 1950s, before To Kill a Mockingbird, and I thought I was slow.  So there's another book to add to my mountain that's about to tumble over.

Happy Reading!

    1. I can't imagine writing a book, Alex, and waiting so long to decide to publish it. Strange.

  2. Wow, that is a long time to put a book out. Never listened to an audio book yet.

    1. Something sounds fishy to me, Pat. :) The audio book is different, that's for sure.

  3. Now that's a long writing break. I'm sure it has been worth waiting for this one.

  4. I've never listened to an audio book and I'm not sure if I'd like it.

She must not have been inspired to wait that long.

    1. Mostly I'm trying the audio book thing to save my eyes that are getting bad, Chrys. I can't imagine waiting that long, especially after the first book did so well.

  5. I'm not sure what the whole story is on this Harper Lee book. Apparently it happened after her sister, who was the attorney protecting her rights, died. I hope she's not being taken advantage of.

    1. There may be more there than they're telling us, Karen. I hope they're not taking advantage. We'll see, I guess.

  6. I've heard so many rumors surrounding Catcher and now this. It makes me think that something is fishy indeed.

    1. It is weird, isn't it, Kai? You don't just forget about a book for fifty years. I guess we'll find out, eventually.

  7. Interesting! I wonder what this book will be about. Can't wait to grab a copy.

Hello, I'm new to the blogosphere, and I'm been looking around websites, paying a visit here and there. Yours has a very friendly atmosphere so I decided to say hi.

As for audiobooks, I found it depends on the quality of the reader. I listened to a great one of Kiyosaki's "Rich Dad, Poor Dad," but an audiobook I listened to of the old "Dracula" classic just made me cringe. If it's well-executed though, it's a great way to enjoy books while leaving you hands-free for everything else. :)

    1. Hi Jeng. Welcome. Nice to "meet" you. Glad you stopped by. Thanks for the kind words about the blog having a friendly atmosphere.
I'm looking forward to reading the book too. Still learning about audiobooks.I think you're right about the narrator making a big difference. Come back and visit when you have a chance.
